If you enjoy going to the movies, there is a 22 screen multiplex movie theater in the mall. There is also an aquarium, ice skating rink and an entire theme park called Sega Republic. Most visitors say they spend a day at the mall, although some people spend more time. Either way if the weather isn’t to your liking or you find it too hot, the mall is a great place to retreat to where you can still do some serious walking and get your exercise in for the day.

In Dubai visitors really can go and visit the Lost City of Atlantis. Located at the luxurious Atlantis Palm Hotel visitors don’t have to be a staying guest to go check out the Lost City of Atlantis. The place is set up to welcome day visitors where they can wander around the underground grottos and gaze at a wide of variety of aquatic species. There is also an array of water slides to delight at the Aquaventure attraction. If you are looking for a nice place to stay, Dubai has no shortages on that. Dubai is known as a top place to go if you are looking to treat yourself. Watch a Free Water Show

A great free activity not to miss while you are in town is to watch the nightly water fountain show at the Dubai Fountain. Located at the impressively built 30 acre manmade BurjKhalifa Lake this performance takes place each evening. This is the world’s largest dancing fountain and 1.5 million lumens are projected onto water spouts. A variety of synchronized music is played in combination with shooting spouts of water. Some of the spouts go as high as 50 stories. This is definitely a neat performance to watch once while you are in town.

Go Watch and Play Sports

Known for hosting a variety of golf and tennis championships, Dubai is making its mark on the sports scene. There are massive sports complexes that have been built where during the heat of summer visitors can play basketball, tennis and football all indoors. Major polo and cricket competitions are also regularly being held there. The Nad Al Sheba Racecourse is a favorite attraction among both visitors and locals.

Admire the Architecture

Walking around the city and admiring all the different types of impressive architecture is an activity in and of itself. There are all sorts of buildings to have one pause in their tracks and wonder, how did they build that? Two worth mentioning to make sure you take a look at are:

BurjKhalita: This building is very famous because it is the world’s largest skyscraper. Jutting up into the sky to a towering height of 160 stories this is one tall building. Many visitors have trouble getting a good photo where they can fit the whole building into one picture. If you would like to get up there a ways, there is an observation deck that is open and accessible to the public.

Burj Al Arab: Famous for being built in the shape of a sail boat this building offers a stunning location and backdrop for your photos. To stay there carries a pretty hefty price tag and it is sometimes referred to as a 7 star hotel. The good news is you don’t have to stay there to get a picture of it.
